COMMUNITY BUILDING

United Way

United Way is committed to building a strong and healthy community for all. The role of United Way is to match the resources of the community (the fundraising campaign) to those areas of greatest need. United Way Agencies respond to health and social service issues in our community.

The United Way of PEI has been conducting needs assessment surveys in PEI since 2001. These needs assessments allow the United Way to allocate funds to areas or needs identified by target populations in PEI. This enables the United Way to ensure that campaign contributions are targeted to provide the greatest benefit to Islanders.

A telephone survey approach was chosen in order to reach the broadest sample of Islanders. This year, a survey on Children & Youth Priority Needs will be conducted.
